Optimist Club of Lodi Mother’s Day Run
Including Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and Kids Fun Runs
What can we say? After running races for 30+ years, completing a few marathons, or triathlons, or even finishing more than one Ironman, you begin to think that organizing a run in your home town might be fun. Activate Lodi thought it was a good idea.
Activate Lodi is group that is working to help everyone in our community live a more healthy lifestyle. Providing education, activities and resources where needed.
Why here and now?
We picked a half marathon in May since it fit in well with a variety of training schedules for triathlons happening in the summer, Madison Marathon, and even the Ford Ironman in Madison in September.
We picked the City of Lodi, Town of Lodi and Town of West Point as the location for the variety of quiet country roads, scenic views, rolling to hilly terrain it offers. For the most part, the race runs on WI Rustic Road 110. And besides, we live here and love it!
Come for the run, stay for the fun
Lodi and the surrounding townships have much to offer the traveler whether you are driving through, spending a day, or staying a week. We are lucky to be on Lake Wisconsin, near the famous Merrimac Ferry and Devils Lake. Our community is rural in nature but rich in heritage.
Lodi is home of Susie the Duck who makes a home in our Spring creek running through the center of town. Come visit this historic small town nestled in the countryside of rolling hills, beautiful pastures and great walking trails. The fall and winter seasons are both perfect to experience and appreciate what Lodi and our surrounding communities have to offer. A day trip here can be planned with a downtown shopping excursion, a night out or for those who want to be more physically challenged, a hike on our Ice Age Trail.
