If you are planning on running the 5K race, Week 12 looks like this:

  • Monday – walk
  • Tuesday – 3 mile run
  • Wednesday – rest
  • Thursday -2 mile run
  • Friday – rest
  • Saturday – rest
  • Sunday Race Day 5K

Lodi Y Outreach Center and pool is for the community and built by the community

It takes help to run a half marathon like the Lodi Mother’s Day Run.  One of the organizations that has supported the Activate Lodi Board and encouraged us to find creative ways to foster healthy lifestyles is the YMCA and specifically the Lodi Outreach Center that runs programs for kids, adults and seniors, and runs the aquatic programs for the community and the school district. As a volunteer supervisor, emergency lifeguard and weekend manager on duty, I can see directly the effect this outstanding organization has on our local community.  We could not organize this race effort without the support of the entire staff of the Lodi Outreach Center. Nothing like a little bread to help get you through your day

Fresh baked bread that is!  Thanks to Panera Bread and the footwork of Kyle Knuteson, we will have plenty of fresh baked bread for after the race to replenish nutrition of our runners.  If you haven’t stopped in to catch a cup of coffee and a bite to eat, we suggest you consider one of the conveniently located Panera’s in Madison.  I find it a great place to meet clients and do some of my business networking. Kwik Trip provides fruits and healthy choices

I can’t tell you how many times on a road trip I had to stop for fuel and walked into the local gas station for a bite to eat only to face poor choices that didn’t fit my best nutrition for my road race training. Now with the help of local convenience store  chain Kwik Trip we have choices of chocolate milk, fruit, cheese, fresh sandwiches potatoes, bread and bananas!  And thanks to the Lodi Kwik Trip, we will have plenty of fruit and chocolate milk ready and waiting for us at the finish of the Lodi Mother’s Day Run.
